26/9/14  Today we have our class at 8 o'clock early than the usual. We learn about External structure of prokaryote. I  a little bit shock when knowing we going to learn about external structure of prokaryote because we just send our mind map about internal structure of prokaryote. Anyway the class carry on and I have fun learning about external structure of prokaryote.   Prokaryotes are a group of organisms that lack of cell nucleus or any other membrane bound organelle. The two domains in prokaryote are bacteria and archaea. 23/9/14  We continue our lesson on Microscopic from where we stop previous class. We learn about how to prepare a specimens for microscopy. Each different microscope require the specimen to be prepare by different way. For light microscope the preparation steps include wet mount and smears. Smears step involve preparing smears, fixation and staining. There are many type of staining. Every microorganism use different stain and each of strain has its function. I personally was shock to know that there are many types of stain. I before this only see slide prepared using microscope. I do not expect to make this slide it is very complex. The microorganism details will be lost if we use wrong stain and wrong technique. That means we have to appreciate the slide being prepared for us during our school day because of hardship to make the slide and I also have to learn correct way on preparing slide which being use by me during studying microbiology.      A bit more information about stai

22/9/14 We had our class today at Bilik Mesyuarat Fakulti. The class started with few announcement from Dr Wan. Our previous project Adopt A Microbe is change to an individual task which we can also selected microbe that cause disease and do an online scrapbook. Our group task is then replaced by Thank A Microbe. We still have to do a poster about selected microbe. Each group have to choose the given theme that are Environment medicine industrial food agriculture   Our group first decide want to do about industrial but there are already two groups doing about industrial. So we decided to do about beneficial microbe to the environment. We also has to sent our learning journal every week. The dateline is on every Sunday 11.59 pm . 19/9/2014  Today is our third microbiology class. We get excited after watching video posted by Dr Wan at Edmodo. The video is about augmented reality where we will use the application on our next project, Adopt A Microbe. Although the technology got nothing to do with our microbiology world but we can make our microbial world more interesting to show to other people by using the latest technology, one of it is this. As for myself I really amaze when I watch the video, first thing that come into my mind, can we do it but I have to try to make the project more interesting. A few problem maybe arise because I did familiar with the application but I guess I have to learn then. Come back to Adopt A Microbe project, this project is a group project that we have to choose a beneficial microbe to present in the form of poster or scrapbook with the addition of video application as above. 12/9/14     We had our lecture today at Bilik Seminar 1.4,Biotech 1.The class started with Dr Wan Zuhainis asking about our previous assignment, video upload on youtube. There were some of us did not able to send the video due to internet problems and other reasons. Then, Dr Wan Zuhainis explain to us about a few social network we have to register and an application we need to download on our laptop, called Jing. We continue learning about microbial world. Several among us have to state the benefits of microorganisms. We have long question and answer session  about microorganism. At the same time we also learn that a hole in cheese were produce by bacteria, where different bacteria produce different hole. It is such an interesting fact that I never know before. Besides, when hyphae do their usual metabolism, they will produce basidium, which very useful to human as an antibiotic, a medicine help to kill certain bacteria or slow the growth of bacteria.     Today class start a little bit late due to Sedekad Biotech program. The class begin with a few question have to answer by us, student of microbiology. There was some question about virus and several question about bacteria. We also have to answer online question such as what we know about microbiology and what is microbiology thorough padlet.com. Dr Wan Zuhainis then give some briefing on BMY 3101 course. We get to know about what will be learn through out this semester. Before the class end,  we were asked to do  assignment. We have to make a video about our self and post it in Youtube.
